This is a great opportunity for both you and your coach to compare your riding skills against other riders who are close to the same age and ability. It gives you a chance to see if you are missing some key skills that you should practice more at home. It also allows you and your coach to see if you have those key skills and if maybe you should be challenged more at home or move up to the next level of competition. It is also a great way to make friends and spend time with those who have a common interest. You also get to spend even more time with a horse and maybe learn a little bit more about him or her. It is a great physical activity and keeps you away from the tv or computer! Riders learn valuable sportsmanship skills as well. Shows are also a great way to spend more time with your child and watch them blossom into the responsible young people they need to become!
There will be a show schedule along with a sign-up sheet and entry forms posted on the board at the barn. Your instructor will periodically discuss attending shows with you! However; if you are interested…DO NOT WAIT…please tell your instructor! We must have time to plan ahead and make sure you are aware of all the skills needed to participate in a show. You may also require more practice at certain things, so lesson plans may be altered to cover this!
Shows are so much fun! Can’t wait to see you there!!
